Additional Understandings
The Bluefishfinder prefers only pieces in the best condition: Pieces that are New With Tags or New Without Tags and in their intended color and cut are most desirable to buyers. Pieces should arrive freshly laundered free of excess lint and pet hair. Very smallish flaws can be acceptable, but will be reflected in the descriptions and pricing ~ Pieces with higher wear, excessive pilling, dye flaws, larger spots, cluster spots or hefty alterations will be returned to you and the ship fee will be deducted from your monthly sales check. You also have the option of selling your pieces to a Blue Fish Crafter for 20.00 per piece. These pieces are referred to as cutters, utilized for the artwork.
It takes approximately 2 to 6 months to see your pieces available for sale. The Bluefishfinder releases New Arrivals once per month. Larger lots take more time so your pieces may be spit into several updates. This time frame depends on how many boxes came in prior to yours and how much preparation your garments may need prior to photographing. Seasonal pieces also may have extended wait periods. Some pieces sell to private customers and may never appear on the site, as they sold off the rack prior to web preparation.
The Bluefishfinder has no trouble sending you back the pieces you wished you had not sent. The first 2 pieces can be returned by request and return ship and insure will be deducted from the next month's sales check, however on the third piece, if the prep work has been completed, the same $20.00 return fee plus shipping will apply.
All pieces are required to post with the Bluefishfinder for a minimum of 360 active days. If the pieces have not sold after this period they can be reduced in price or can be returned by request. A small return fee will apply as compensation to the Bluefishfinder for the work put into the preparation of the garment. Estimated Fee $20.00 per garment plus return shipping. Also the Bluefishfinder will hold the pieces until they sell, which ever is desired by the consignor. After the 365 day mark the pieces will be reduced by 50% for liquidation.
The Bluefishfinder at times has to wait for checks to come through snail mail or for payments to clear the bank. Sometimes your pieces may be placed on a Customer Payment Plan. A fair estimation for expected payment is approximately 30 to 60 days. However, most mailed payments are made to consignees on monthly bases or when proceeds exceed $500.00 Since Bluefishfinder offers lay away plans, some pieces sold may not be reflected in particular payments.
The owner of the pieces on consignment pays for the return shipping on pieces that have not sold. A Fair estimation for a completed account, on a larger lot would be 12 to 18 months per 150 pieces. All pieces are required to stay with the Bluefishfinder for a minimum of 360 active days. This equals out to around 12 months. Larger lots or unseasonable pieces can estimate longer waits for completed compensation.
The consignment rate includes all expenses affiliated with the sale of the garment: A Completed spreadsheet in Excel format will be provided for your record keeping. Minor repairs also are included, materials permitting: Replacements of original buttons, pressing and steaming, minor sew jobs and an occasional over painting which would be completed by an X Blue Fish artist. Laundering, spot and pet hair removal dry cleaning and replacement of elastic waistbands are not included and additional fees will apply.
The Bluefishfinder is not responsible for any inventory loss due to the result of any natural disasters such as fire, flood, or structural damage to the free standing shop. The garments are sent at your own risk, and are not covered by any insurance policy.
