Do you have an on line consignment contract? - top
At this time, we do not have an on line contract. To view the consignment contract prior to signing and the sending of your pieces, please email with your request for the Consignment Contract.
Does the BlueFishFinder have a catalog? - top
The Bluefishfinder site is like a large on line catalog in itself. Inventory changes so often there would be no way to offer a current catalog. However, the Bluefishfinder’s Memorabilia Department may have a vintage Blue Fish catalog available.
The Blue Fish Clothing Company was created by Jennifer Barclay back in 1986 and sadly went out of business in during the Spring Season of 2001.
Since the pieces are now no longer in production each and every piece becomes a true vintage collectable.
Are the colors I see on the web site always the color of the actual piece? - top
Please remember sometimes the same color does not shoot the same on any given days so please ask any question pertaining to shade differences. Monitors vary so if you are in doubt, please email for a more detailed description of the color.

You can expect that your pieces be in the condition as described lovingly wrapped in white tissue paper and shipped and insured within 2 days of your purchase date usps priority mail.
What shipping method does Bluefishfinder use? - top
We ship only usps Priority 2 to 3 day mail insured. Insurance fee is included in the checkout fee. A Handling fee will not be charged. Other arrangements may be made prior to purchasing. International buyers are welcome, additional fees will apply. Combine ship and insure available upon request.
Does the BFF accept returns? - top
The Bluefishfinder does not accept returns unless the piece was misrepresented. We want you happy with your purchase so exchanges are welcome as long as the origional purchase is returned within 10 days of purchase. The piece must be in the same condition as when it left the shop. It is reccomended you insure your return package to protect your investment. Please Return USPS Insured Priority for the fastest service.

Does the BFF have any layaway terms? - top
Yes, Blue Fish Finder does have layaway plans available. Plans are only available for purchases totaling 500.00 or more, accompanied by a 1/2 down deposit. The remaining 1/2 amount due must be paid in full by the agreed dates or the garments will be forfeited. At that time 1/2 of the original down payment will be refunded via bff company check.
If I buy a piece from you and wish to resell on online, may I use the description and or pictures from the BFF site? - top

If I buy a piece from you and wish to resell, may I return the piece to BFF on a consignment bases? - top
The Bluefishfinder will accept pieces previously purchased from the BFF on a special consignment bases of 40% ~ provided the piece was returned within the 14 day period.
If I have other Blue Fish pieces not purchased on the BFF Site may I send them on a consignment bases? - top
The Bluefishfinder does accept pieces on a consignment bases at a 50% Rate.
What is the Consignment Rate for selling my Blue Fish and what is included? - top
The consignment rate does not include additional preparations and expenses affiliated with the sale of the garment: When materials are available, small fees will apply. Replacements of original buttons, pressing and steaming, minor sew jobs and an occasional over painting by an X Blue Fish artist. Laundering, spot and pet hair removal, dry cleaning and replacement of elastic waistbands are not included and additional fees will apply. A Completed spreadsheet in Excel format will be provided for your record keeping.

The Bluefishfinder runs the website 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Private viewings are available by appointment. Occasionally, The Bluefishfinder will travel occasionally to various craft or trade shows for additional exposure. The Bluefishfinder is listed with all the major search engines under Blue Fish and Blue Fish Clothing. Local gatherings, small trade parties and private sales via the Internet are also utilized. Customers may fill out a Fishin For Form and they will be contacted before a piece hits the site

What condition must a piece be in to be acceptable for the BFF site? - top
The Bluefishfinder prefers only pieces in the best condition: Pieces that are New With Tags or New Without Tags and in their intended color and cut are most desirable to buyers. Pieces should arrive freshly laundered free of excess lint and pet hair. Very smallish flaws can be acceptable, but will be reflected in the descriptions and pricing ~ Pieces with higher wear, excessive pilling, dye flaws, larger spots, cluster spots or hefty alterations will be returned to you and the ship fee will be deducted from your monthly sales check. You also have the option of selling your pieces to a Blue Fish Crafter for 10.00 per piece. These pieces are referred to as cutters, utilized for the artwork

When will I see my pieces posted on the BFF Site? - top
It takes approximately 4 to 6 months to see your pieces available for sale. The Bluefishfinder releases New Arrivals once per month. Larger lots take more time so your pieces may be spit into several updates. This time frame depends on how many boxes came in prior to yours and how much preparation your garments may need prior to photographing. Seasonal pieces also may have extended wait periods. Some pieces sell to private customers and may never appear on the site, as they sold off the rack prior to web preparation.

Can I change my mind after I send the pieces to be sold, asking for a return? - top
The Bluefishfinder has no trouble sending you back the pieces you wished you had not sent. The first piece can be returned by request and return ship and insure will be deducted from the next month's sales check, however on the second piece, if the prep work has been completed, a $20.00 return fee plus shipping will apply to cover the work and preparation that has been put into the garment for sale purposes.
How will I be paid for my pieces that have sold? - top
The Bluefishfinder recommends setting up a Paypal account for faster payments. However, a BFF company check may be used for those consignees who prefer to save the minimal fees associated with electronic transfers, which usually can be approximated at a 2.5 to 3.0 percentage.
May I use my sales proceeds as a credit on the BFF site? - top
Yes the Bluefishfinder will credit your account for additional pieces you wish to purchase on the site.
How long after my piece sells, should I expect payment? - top
The Bluefishfinder at times has to wait for checks to come through snail mail or for payments to clear the bank. Sometimes your pieces may be placed on a customers Payment Plan. A fair estimation for expected payment is approximately 30 to 60 days. However, most mailed payments are made to consignees on monthly bases or when proceeds exceed $500.00 Since Bluefishfinder offers lay away plans, some pieces sold may not be reflected in particular payments.

If my pieces do not sell, when should I expect them returned and who pays for the return shipping? - top
The owner of the pieces on consignment pays for the return shipping on pieces that have not sold. A Fair estimation for a completed account, on a larger lot would be 12 to 18 months per 150 pieces. All pieces are required to stay with the Bluefishfinder for a minimum of 360 active days. This equals out to around 12 months. Larger lots or unseasonable pieces can estimate longer waits for completed compensation.

How long will you offer my pieces for sale on the BFF site? - top
All pieces are required to post with the Bluefishfinder for a minimum of 365 active days. If the pieces have not sold after this period they can be reduced in price or can be returned by request . A small return fee will apply as compensation to the Bluefishfinder for the work put into the preparation of the garment. Estimated Fee $20.00 per garment plus return shipping. Also the Bluefishfinder will hold the pieces until they sell, which ever is desired by the consignor. After the 365 day mark the pieces will be reduced by 50% for liquidation.
Do you accept any other Lines of clothing? - top
The Bluefishfinder only accepts authentic Blue Fish and Barclay Studio pieces.
Who is resonsible for pieces that may be damaged due to natural disaster? - top
The Bluefishfinder is not responsible for any inventory loss due to the result of any natural disasters such as fire, flood, or structural damage to the free standing shop. The garments are sent at your own risk, and are not covered by any insurance policy.

Do you have gift certificates available? - top
The Bluefishfinder has Two Types of Gift Certificates: The first type is a PayPal Gift Certificate. This is for gifting to a person that does have a PayPal account. You do not need to have an account as the giver or purchaser of the certificate. Just use the link below to purchase.
Paypal Gift Certificate
The second type is a Blue Fish Finder Gift Certificate. This is for gifting to a person who does not have a PayPal account. Simply call us and charge a gift certificate. We will print the certificate and send it to you or your gifted via priority mail. Non PayPal account holders must redeem their certificate either by phone or mail or email.
